Funded through the United States Department of Education, the Mingo County Commission Upward Bound Program’s purpose is to provide academic, social and cultural support and assistance to further the educational goals of targeted students within the Mingo and Wyoming Counties of West Virginia. Further, the ultimate goal of the MCC Upward Bound Program is to ensure that targeted students graduate from high school and enroll in a post-secondary educational institution. Since the late 1960’s the Upward Bound Program has provided educational support and guidance to students in a fashion unlike any other educational setting. It is the goal of the Mingo County Commission Upward Bound to continue the success of other UB Projects by providing these services to the students of Mingo and Wyoming counties.
